At Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF), we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of malnutrition through a holistic lifecycle approach, addressing iron deficiency anemia and undernutrition among vulnerable populations. Today, we positively impact 400,000+ beneficiaries across 8 states, working alongside ICDS, Health, and Education departments to create lasting change.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to upholding every child's entitlement to Nutrition & Growth through the implementation of sustainable, scalable programs. We are committed to product innovation and research, addressing both primary and ancillary causes of malnutrition, and taking accountability for fostering the nourishment and vitality of the community .

Our Objectives

  • Enhancing Nutritional Well-being: Focus on improving the nutritional health of children, women, and adolescents through various interventions.
  • Promoting Community Ownership: Foster community engagement to ensure sustainable practices and long-term impact.
  • Expanding Access and Coverage: Increase access to nutritional services by providing information, guidance, and awareness campaigns on child nutrition.
  • Supporting Government Policies: Align with and support government initiatives aimed at improving child nutrition.
  • Targeted Communication Strategies: Develop communication strategies that specifically address the nutritional needs of children, with a focus on preventing micronutrient deficiencies (Iron, Folic Acid, Vitamin A, Zinc, Iodine).
  • Disseminating Nutritional Awareness: Dedicate efforts to educate communities about proper nutrition and healthy eating habits.
  • Collaboration with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with NGOs, government bodies, and other organizations to implement initiatives that support the nutritional needs of underprivileged children in rural and urban areas.

Program's Strategy to Combat Malnutrition

Food-Centric Strategy

  • Nutrition Gardens: Establish nutrition gardens in households identified as malnourished beneficiaries to promote local food production.
  • Supplementary Nutrition: Provide targeted supplementary nutrition to malnourished individuals, ensuring they receive adequate nutrients.
  • Educational Outreach: Educate mothers and caregivers on enhancing dietary habits and improving food practices for better nutrition.

Enhanced Service Delivery

  • Service Provider Training: Strengthen the capabilities of healthcare and service providers to improve the quality and outreach of nutrition and health services.
  • Engagement with Authorities: Work with relevant authorities to ensure regular and consistent provision of essential services such as immunization and supplementation of iron, calcium, and vitamin A.

Community-Oriented Approach

  • Community Engagement: Organize sessions to promote active community participation in the prevention and management of malnutrition, ensuring long-term community-driven impact.
