  • Community Engagement: Suposhan Sakhis are selected from households with malnourished children and operate within Anganwadi centers. They undergo training sessions and receive educational materials from Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF) to enhance their knowledge.
  • Supporting Families: With their understanding of local community dynamics, Suposhan Sakhis help facilitate access to Anganwadi services, ensuring that women and children receive proper care and nutrition.
  • Facilitating Knowledge Sharing: Suposhan Sakhis convene group meetings for mothers in their villages, facilitating the dissemination of critical nutrition information and best practices. This helps to strengthen the community's collective knowledge and support systems.
  • Empowerment and Recognition: BNF values and acknowledges the contributions of Suposhan Sakhis, fostering their self-confidence and a sense of purpose. They are seen as the cornerstone of BNF's community-based initiatives, acting as key change-makers in their communities.

  • Empowering School Children: Nutrition Champions are selected from among malnourished children who actively participate in program activities within schools. They undergo activity-based training to develop essential skills and knowledge related to nutrition and health.
  • Forming Peer Support Groups: Nutrition Champions help form groups of 15-30 children and adolescents, where they play an active role in leading discussions and activities related to health and nutrition. Each group is supported by 1-2 Nutrition Champions to ensure effective engagement and guidance.
  • Growth Monitoring: They assist BNF's team in conducting regular growth monitoring activities, helping track the nutritional progress of their peers.
  • Monthly Meetings and Advocacy: Nutrition Champions lead monthly group meetings either at school or in their villages, where they lead discussions on nutrition, health, and hygiene practices. This empowers them to spread awareness and act as role models for their peers.
  • Recognition and Value: BNF recognizes the dedication and impact of Nutrition Champions, acknowledging their pivotal role in promoting nutrition and health within their communities and schools.
